Dynaten wins both ASIAN GT Zhuhai Rounds with the Z06 on itsfirst outing. Once again Dynaten proved his high standards of race craft and race car preparation with a perfect result on his first ever Asian GT weekend. After spending 6 months of hard work ranging from a complete brake system overhaul to body modification and power train redesign , turning a car with potential but numerous issue in a race winner, the team went into the first practice session with a certain degree of apprehension. The car had just complete it’s first full session the day before and the team never had a chance to properly set up or evaluate the car. In addition the field was composed of the usual host of Ferraris 360 and 430 challenges with the newly arrived Ferrari 430 GT3, real GT race cars. Thankfully the hard worked paid off and with a great drive from our long time driver Eitan ZIdkilov, the car ended up at the top more than one second ahead of the second best car, a Ferrari 430 GT3. Reassured on the level of performance of the car , qualify went very well with Eitan snatching pole on his second flying lap in 1.41.442,then staing in the pit for 10 min before going again near the end to improve to a 1.41.351, with the Ferrari 430 GT3’s being two tenths adrift. Race one saw a bit of drama as when the time come to bring the car to the grid the gearbox was stock in gear. Luckily the team did an opening on top of the selection panel and within minutes managed to free it. You can imagine the stress level as the car lined up on the top spot for the start. Eitan got a perfect get away and increased his lead by at least one second a lap, with the team watching his progress anxiously on the monitor. He crosses the line with a 13 seconds gap to the second after a rather uneventful race for him, as opposed to the rest of the pack were cars were fighting hard for positions. As expected second and third went to Lee B.Oliver and CheungYing Wai Eric in their Ferrari 430 GT3. A post race inspection wil reveal that the gearbox was jammed by half a pin from a fork which broke and felt in the tranny. The team swiftly repairs the car and went into race two,where the scenario was quite similar to race one, Eitan crossing the line with a 8 second lead. The team having demonstrated the car potential is now gearingup for Macau were 36 cars will compete on the infamous street circuit, with a host of European drivers and exotic cars such as Lamborghini GT3 and PorscheGT3 joining the Ferraris.
